Job summary

Amity Foundation in California seeks a Counselor I to deliver in-prison rehabilitative programming as part of the ISUDTP. You will lead CBI classes, conduct individual sessions, and track progress in ARMS, helping participants build release‑prevention plans.

The role requires AOD certification within five years and current AOD registration, plus strong interpersonal skills and MS Office/ARMS proficiency.

Qualifications

• Obtain AOD certification within five years.
• Current AOD Registration with a DHCS‑approved organization.
• Knowledge of ISUDTP contractual requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum.
• Conduct classes and individual sessions to develop release plans.
• Evaluate and document progress of participants in classes.
• Document delivery of CBI services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS HQ, local institutions, and contracted staff.
• Other related duties as assigned.
