Job summary

Amity Foundation in California seeks a Counselor I to deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP) within prison facilities. The role emphasizes evidence-based curricula, participant engagement, and collaborative work with CDCR and contracted staff.

You will document progress, manage ARMS records, and support release-prevention planning while maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in a challenging correctional

Qualifications

• Counselor I registration with an organization approved by DHCS and AOD certification within 5 years.
• Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse.
• Knowledge of ISUDTP contractual requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures from treatment participants.
• Protect and maintain participants' health, safety, confidentiality of records.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum for participants.
• Conduct class and sessions to develop release prevention/action plans and make-up work.
• Evaluate and document participants' progress in classes.
• Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations for participation.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institutions, and contracted staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Contractor.
