Job summary

Amity Foundation is seeking a Counselor I for in-prison programs in California. The role focuses on delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming within ISUDTP, facilitating Cognitive Behavioral Interventions, and collaborating with prison staff to support inmate participants.

The Counselor I will document progress, plan release strategies, and ensure confidentiality and ethical standards are maintained. A DHCS-approved registration and AOD certification are required within five years.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with an organization approved by DHCS.
• Must obtain AOD certification within five years of registration.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office and ARMS.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using standardized curriculum.
• Conduct class and individual sessions to develop release planning and make-up work.
• Evaluate and document participant progress in ARMS and records.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institutions, and staff.
