Job summary

Amity Foundation is seeking a Counselor I for in-prison ISUDTP programming. The role focuses on delivering evidence-based curricula, individual sessions, and progress documentation to incarcerated participants.

Responsibilities include class facilitation, progress evaluation, and ARMS documentation, with collaboration across CDCR and contracted staff. Requires DHCS-approved registration and AOD certification within five years.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with an organization approved by DHCS and obtain AOD certification within five years.
• Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse.
• Knowledge of ISUDTP contractual requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes, using evidence-based and standardized curriculum to the participants.
• Conduct class and facilitate individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans and/or provide make-up work.
• Evaluate and document the progress of participants assigned to their classes.
• Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations for participations and completion.
• Work collaboratively with the CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institution, and CDCR contracted staff.
• Other related duties as assigned by the Contractor.
