SiSTEM is seeking experienced tutors to work in person with motivated students in the Pearland, Texas area. Tutors join as trusted academic partners, helping students build real understanding, stronger study strategies, and confidence in their coursework.

In-person availability is required, with sessions possible at homes, libraries, schools, or other local venues in Pearland. If you can meet students face to face in the Pearland area, we want to hear from you.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years teaching, tutoring, or mentoring.
• Deep expertise in at least one subject listed.
• Reliable transportation; able to meet students in person in Pearland area.
• Experience with honors, Pre-AP, AP, IB, or test prep settings.
• Proven track record of helping students improve.
• Clear, patient communication and the ability to explain concepts.

Responsibilities

• Conduct one-on-one in-person tutoring sessions with students in grades K-12.
• Help students develop deeper conceptual understanding beyond homework completion.
• Build study habits, problem-solving strategies, and confidence across subjects.
• Identify and close gaps in foundational skills.
• Align sessions with students' academic roadmap using SiSTEM tools.
• Communicate progress and strategy with families when appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of preparation and professionalism.
