SiSTEM in Texas is seeking experienced in-person tutors to work with K-12 students in the Spring/Klein area. Tutors meet students face to face in homes, libraries, or community spaces.

Applicants must have completed high school, have reliable transportation, and be able to meet families in person in the Spring/Klein area.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of teaching, tutoring, or academic mentoring experience.
• Deep expertise in at least one subject and grade band listed.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to meet students in person in the Spring/Klein area.
• Experience with honors, Pre-AP, AP, IB, gifted, dual credit, or test prep settings.
• Track record of helping students improve grades, build confidence, or master concepts.
• Clear, patient communication and the ability to make a subject click for students who think they are not a math person or not a writer.
• Professional reliability.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one and in person with students in grades K-12 in your subject areas.
• Help students develop deeper conceptual understanding, not just finish homework.
• Build study habits, problem-solving strategies, and confidence across subjects.
• Identify and close gaps in foundational skills.
• Align sessions with each student's broader academic roadmap using SiSTEM's planning tools.
• Communicate with families on progress and strategy when appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of preparation and professionalism.
