Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Tax Advisor to prepare complete tax returns for individuals and businesses in a local Block Advisors office. You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and build ongoing relationships with personalized guidance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in tax, strong communication, and CPA/EA credentials preferred. In-person, with a competitive pay structure and incentives.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns, including planning and notices.
• Experience in a client-facing, advisory role with clear communication.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for diverse client situations (individuals & business).
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and implications, then provide guidance.
• Build year-round client relationships with empathetic, consultative service and identify savings opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive office environment.
