Job summary

H&R Block seeks a year-round Tax Advisor to prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns. You will conduct in-depth client interviews, offering clear, personalized recommendations and building long-term client relationships.

The role includes providing IRS support, audit guidance, and collaborating with a team to maintain a positive, client-focused office environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution.
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex tax situations, including individual and business returns.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financial situations, life changes, and tax implications; provide clear, personalized recommendations.
• Build year-round client relationships by delivering empathetic, consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities and Block Advisors products/services.
• Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance to clients as needed.
• Collaborate with team members, share knowledge, and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
