Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare returns, interview clients, and deliver personalized tax guidance in a local Block Advisors office.

You will build trusted client relationships, identify tax savings opportunities, and provide IRS support while collaborating with a supportive team and leveraging leading training and technology. The role emphasizes in-person client service and professional growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
• Experience preparing complex individual returns and business returns, including tax planning and audit support.
• Strong client-facing and advisory capabilities with clear communication of tax concepts.
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse situations.
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and implications.
• Build year-round client relationships and identify tax-saving opportunities.
• Provide IRS support, notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
• Collaborate with team members to maintain a positive office environment.
