Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor (Tax Advisor) to help clients navigate complex tax and business situations with confidence. This in-person role at a local Block Advisors office combines expert training, modern technology, and a competitive hourly rate with an incentive plan.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
Experience preparing complex individual and business returns.
Strong verbal and written communication; ability to explain tax concepts clearly.
Client-facing, consultative or advisory experience.
Must meet IRS/state continuing education requirements and have a high school diploma/GED.

Responsibilities

Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse tax situations.
Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications.
Build year-round client relationships by delivering consultative service and identifying tax savings opportunities.
Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance and audit guidance to clients as needed.
Collaborate with team and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment.
