Job summary

H&R Block is seeking a year-round Block Advisor to prepare complex tax returns and meet clients' evolving tax needs with expert guidance. You will interview clients, identify savings opportunities, and promote Block products while delivering empathetic, consultative service.

Office-based role with structured training and performance incentives. You will build lasting client relationships, provide support on IRS issues, and collaborate with teammates to ensure a positive office environment

Qualifications

Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping.
Experience preparing complex individual and business returns, including tax planning and audit support.
Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role.
Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly.
Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations.
Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand finances and tax implications, then provide recommendations.
Build year-round client relationships and identify tax savings opportunities and Block products.
Provide IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed.
Collaborate with team, share knowledge, and maintain a client-focused office environment.
