Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is seeking a College Advisor to drive engagement and empower students to achieve their academic and career goals. You will collaborate with Advising Peers, Recruitment, Admissions, Career, Financial Aid, Retention Coaches, Student Life, and faculty to provide coordinated coaching across the student journey.

You will monitor academic progression, interpret policies, and support education planning, transfer, and career development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher required; related experience in advising is preferred.
• Minimum of two years in higher education advising or student services.
• Master's degree is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive academic advising for current students.
• Delivers group workshops and individual advising sessions.
• Monitors academic progression and uses milestones to support retention.
• Provides career exploration and planning guidance.
• Guides students in course registration aligned with programs and plans.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional ethics in all interactions.
