Job summary

Arizona Department of Economic Security (DES) is seeking a Customer Service Representative 3 for the Division of Benefits and Medical Eligibility in Benson, AZ. This on-site role supports nutrition, TANF, and medical assistance programs, providing guidance and processing in-person inquiries.

The position requires strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a busy field office environment.

Qualifications

• One year experience in direct customer service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, in-person setting.
• Ability to review and enter information in computer systems.
• Explain self-service options to customers.
• Ability to handle irate or hostile customers professionally.
• Submit changes and information received from customers.
• Assist customers in applying for benefits programs (NA/TANF/MA).

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in a fast-paced face-to-face setting while reviewing and entering information in various computer systems.
• Determine steps to follow in standard work to place customers in the workflow or provide resolution to inquiries.
• Provide guidance and instruction to customers on use of self-service options.
• Work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with potential irate customers.
• Provide case status updates to customers.
• Assist customers in uploading documents to their online account.
• Submit changes and information received from customers.
• Issue EBT Cards following policy and procedures.
• Conduct a range of eligibility-related customer service functions, researching and analyzing policies to resolve issues.
