Job summary

HeyTutor partners with a school district in Lawndale to hire English and Math tutors for after-school sessions with students in grades 3–8. You will supervise and support learners, help them catch up on gaps from the past year, and work without on-site teachers.

This role emphasizes consistent hours, a classroom setting, and a background check. Compensation is based on education and experience, with opportunities to impact students in your community.

Qualifications

• AA or higher degree completed or current college enrollment.
• Tutoring experience with kids.
• Comfort tutoring 3rd–8th Grade Math & ELA.
• Able to work in a classroom setting and pass an FBI-DOJ background check.

Responsibilities

• Work with groups of students without teacher supervision.
• Prepare tutoring area before sessions.
• Take attendance and log progress in HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Lead sessions using curriculum provided by the program.
• Foster an engaging environment and positive behavior.
• Clock in/out via Deputy for shifts.
• Complete any other duties as assigned.
