Job summary

HeyTutor is hiring Math Tutors to support elementary students in Lancaster, CA, with in-person sessions after school. Applicants must have completed an Associate’s degree or be currently enrolled in college.

The role targets grades 3–5, offering consistent hours, competitive pay, and opportunities to grow in a community-focused setting. A background check is required to join the team.

Qualifications

• Completed AA degree or higher, OR currently enrolled in college (required).
• Experience working with children or tutoring preferred.
• Comfortable tutoring Elementary School Math.
• Ability to manage large groups of students independently.
• Comfortable working in a classroom setting.
• Ability to pass an FBI-DOJ in-person background check (provided by HeyTutor).
• Spanish bilingual is preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Tutor large groups of students up to 15 without direct teacher supervision.
• Deliver lessons using provided curriculum and materials.
• Create an engaging, welcoming learning environment.
• Support positive student behavior and participation.
• Track attendance and student progress using the HeyTutor Dashboard.
• Assist with student assessments when requested.
• Escort students to and from designated areas on campus.
• Clock in/out daily using Deputy.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
