Job summary

HeyTutor is seeking dedicated and dependable ELA & Reading Tutors to provide high-impact, in-person academic support to students in grades 3–5 in Los Angeles.

Tutors will work about 20 hours per week, focusing on Reading, Writing, Phonics, and literacy intervention, with Orton-Gillingham training provided by the District. This role offers hands-on experience in education and the chance to build meaningful relationships with students and school staff.

Qualifications

• In-person tutoring role focusing on elementary reading and writing.
• Interest in education and literacy, with a passion for helping young learners.
• Willingness to complete Orton-Gillingham training provided by the District.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, high-dosage tutoring to students in grades 3–5 in ELA and Reading.
• Lead small-group rotations and develop lesson plans aligned with district curriculum.
• Complete Orton-Gillingham training before starting intervention.
• Maintain attendance, enrollment records, and program documentation.
• Communicate with teachers and families about schedules and progress.
