Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an In-Patient Coder to handle hospital (acute) inpatient visits. You will code CABG, Orthopedic, and medical cases using ICD-10-CM/PCS and ensure accurate DRGs. Proficiency with 3M 360 Encoder HDM is required, and you will float across sites as needed.

Minimum include a 2-year degree or equivalent, AHIMA/AAPC certification, and credentials such as RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/COC. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience; AHIMA or AAPC certification REQUIRED.
• Actively holds one or more of RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, COC credentials.
• Experience coding CABG, Orthopedic, and Med cases REQUIRED.
• Experience working with 3M 360 Encoder HDM REQUIRED.
• Meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards.

Responsibilities

• Inpatient: Assign ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for diagnoses and procedures with DRG accuracy.
• Create compliant physician queries when needed.
• Review claims for medical necessity.
• Update problem lists per client contract.
• Assign present-on-admission indicators.
• Provide excellent customer service to clients and teammates.
• Float between sites and coding specialties as needed.
