Job summary

Lincoln Property Company in New Jersey is seeking a Building Engineer I to maintain and troubleshoot building systems including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. You will perform routine maintenance, respond to tenant requests, and work under the guidance of senior engineers.

This 100% in-office role requires 2–3 years of related experience, CFC preferred, and compliance with safety standards. You'll handle on-call rotations, coordinate with tenants and contractors, and keep detailed maintenance

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of relevant experience or commensurate certification/trade experience.
• Engineering and trade licenses required per local, state, or national requirements.
• CFC Certification preferred.
• Developing familiarity with HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems; BAS operation and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Outlook and work order systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and inspections of building systems.
• Address service requests, including hot/cold calls, plumbing issues, and lighting repairs.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment malfunctions and escalate as needed.
• Replace light fixtures, filters, and other components as required.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections and equipment performance.
• Conduct property inspections to identify deficiencies and perform preventive maintenance.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE; ensure OSHA, NEC, NFPA compliance; report hazards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergencies; support recovery during outages.
• Interact with tenants, contractors, and property managers; collaborate with senior engineers.
• Develop technical skills through mentorship and professional development programs.
