Job summary

Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP, an Am Law 200 firm in Atlanta, seeks an Accounts Payable Specialist to join the AP team. This 100% in-office role reports to the AP Manager and focuses on accurate, timely vendor payments in a high-volume setting.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented problem solvers who thrive in a team environment and value strong internal/external service. Bachelor's degree and 2–4 years AP experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required, area of study in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 2-4 years AP experience, legal industry preferred but not required.
• Experience processing accounts payable in a high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Process check requests and vendor invoices in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Ensure proper entry and coding into the financial system.
• Prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Process employee expense reports using standard procedures.
• Handle complex invoice coding: billable, non-billable, multi-locations.
• Investigate and resolve issues with invoice processing.
• Work with vendors to resolve past-due invoices, credits, etc.
• File, maintain and distribute accounting records and reports.
• Prepare batch check runs.
• IRS TIN matching; setting up vendors and obtaining W-9s.
• Perform other duties to support accounts payable and accounting.
