Job summary

Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in our Atlanta office. This 100% in-office role reports to the AP Manager and collaborates with the AP team to ensure accurate, timely vendor payments.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented problem solvers who thrive in a team environment and understand the importance of internal and external client service. Remote work is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of AP experience; legal industry preferred but not required.
• Experience processing high-volume AP with accuracy and discretion.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial systems usage.

Responsibilities

• Process check requests and vendor invoices in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Ensure proper entry and coding into the financial system.
• Prioritize tasks in a deadline-driven setting.
• Process employee expense reports per standard procedures.
• Handle complex coding of invoices: billable, non-billable, multi-locations.
• Investigate and resolve issues related to invoice processing.
• Work with vendors to resolve past-due invoices and credits.
• File, maintain and distribute accounting records and reports.
• Prepare batch check runs and IRS TIN matching.
• Set up vendors and obtain W-9 forms.
• Perform other duties to support accounts payable and accounting.
