Job summary

Appian Corporation seeks a Software Engineer to transition foundational computing skills into high‑impact production deliverables. Depending on strengths, you’ll join a small, highly skilled team using cutting‑edge AI tooling to design features with increasing sophistication on an Enterprise-Grade Orchestration scale.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering with a strong academic record.
• Prior experience in a professional, academic, or technical setting (internships, research, capstones, or consistent part‑time/full-time employment).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a professional environment.
• Proven fluency in AI and LLMs, encompassing both the strategic development of AI-powered platform capabilities and the hands‑on application of AI tools to accelerate daily workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop Clean Software: leverage knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns to write robust full-stack software components.
• Engineer with AI: use AI coding tools fluently to accelerate development while maintaining quality.
• Stop Bugs in Their Tracks: diagnose root causes and write clean code to eliminate defects.
• Collaborate and Communicate: participate in technical designs and refine product features and engineering decisions.
