Job summary

Planet is seeking an experienced Software Engineer – Enterprise AI to lead the hands-on deployment of enterprise-grade AI applications, custom agentic workflows, and foundational AI infrastructure. This full-time, hybrid role requires you to work from our San Francisco office 3 days per week.

You will drive scalable AI platforms and partner with internal business units to accelerate adoption. The role emphasizes building intelligent agent experiences, evaluating Gemini Enterprise App and Claude,

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience deploying applications on GCP and AWS.
• Experience in regulated engineering environments (ITAR, EAR, or FedRAMP).
• Experience with AI Gateways, Agent Registries, and orchestration platforms.
• Proficiency in Python, Vector Databases, and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain production-ready Enterprise AI applications and internal tools.
• Collaborate to create end-to-end intelligent agent experiences and automate complex workflows.
• Support evaluation, customization, and integration of Gemini Enterprise App and Claude.
• Maintain a centralized AI Gateway for LLM routing, rate limiting, cost controls, and model selection.
• Integrate an AI Agent Registry to catalogue, govern, and monitor agents across the company.
• Implement robust logging, monitoring, and alerting frameworks for AI touchpoints.
• Ensure ITAR/EAR compliance in AI data pipelines and infrastructure.
• Partner with Security and Legal on data access controls and secret management.
