Job summary

Regency Harmony House Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Brewster, WA is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to provide direct patient care under a Physical Therapist's supervision. The role emphasizes in-house therapy within a skilled nursing and long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited institution.
• Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in assigned State.
• Must be able to take direction from registered therapists and other team members to promote patient treatment and safety.
• Must be able to work independently with periodic support and direction.

Responsibilities

• Following the plan of care, instructs and aids patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait training, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training.
• Observes, records, and reports to the supervising PT, nurse, and/or physician the patient’s response to treatment and changes in condition.
• Instructs patient, family, caregiver, and other members of the health care team in therapy areas in which they can participate.
• Visits patient according to Plan of Treatment; complete a daily note for each visit.
• Participates in developing the Plan of Treatment as needed with communication with the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Adheres to Therapy Standards of Practice in the provision of services to all patients.
• Reports to the Physical Therapist information relating to the patient’s progress, complication, and/or response to treatment.
• Assist Physical Therapist in performing procedures, tests, and complex treatment to ensure safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients.
