Job summary

First American is seeking an Associate Operations Counsel to provide in-house legal and regulatory advice for mortgage servicing and document requirements. You’ll draft contracts, policies, and product forms and support compliance across divisions.

You’ll research federal and state mortgage servicing laws, interpret investor requirements, review and maintain servicing documents, and coordinate with internal teams to implement regulatory changes and reduce risk.

Qualifications

• Law degree required and US bar admission.
• 1–3 years of professional experience in mortgage servicing regulatory compliance.
• Direct experience with mortgage servicing regulations and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel on mortgage servicing documents, forms and compliance.
• Review and develop servicing documents to meet regulatory and investor requirements.
• Research federal/state laws and communicate regulatory changes to teams.
• Collaborate with operations, product, technology and compliance to implement changes.
• Research and resolve servicing-related questions with clients' contacts.
