Job summary

First American is seeking an Associate Operations Counsel to provide in-house legal and regulatory support focused on mortgage servicing documentation and compliance. You will draft and review contracts, policies, and forms, interpreting RESPA, TILA and related federal/state rules.

You will partner with product, operations, and IT to implement regulatory changes. The role requires a Law Degree and US bar admission, with 1–3 years of relevant experience and strong analytical, written, and verbal

Qualifications

Juris Doctor or equivalent legal degree required.
1-3 years of professional experience in mortgage servicing law preferred.
Licensed to practice law in the United States.

Responsibilities

Provide timely, high-quality legal counsel to mortgage servicing, regulatory compliance, and related operations.
Research and interpret federal and state mortgage servicing laws and investor requirements to ensure documents and processes stay compliant.
Review, develop, and maintain mortgage servicing documents and forms for regulatory and investor compliance.
Monitor regulatory changes and assess their impact on documents, systems, and processes.
Collaborate with internal teams to address documentation questions and implement changes.
