Job summary

The attorney will examine risks, draft and negotiate contracts (carrier, logistics, cross-border, software), and support acquisitions or divestitures while ensuring regulatory compliance and effective leadership communication.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Law (JD/LLB) required.
• Licensed to practice law in Wisconsin.
• Minimum 6 years of practicing attorney experience.
• In-house experience is a plus.
• Background in transportation, HR, finance, accounting, or other heavily regulated sectors preferred.
• Able to plan, organize, and prioritize many tasks.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Examine facts, identify legal risks, and recommend solutions to Schneider leaders.
• Formulate hypotheses from limited evidence to guide decisions.
• Monitor matters for compliance with company guidelines.
• Communicate legal matters clearly to business leaders.
• Collaborate with departments to ensure regulatory compliance at federal and state levels.
• Draft and negotiate contracts including carrier transportation, logistics, cross-border, and software.
• Assist with acquisition or divestiture negotiations and asset transactions.
• Develop and provide engaging legal education and training for the company.
