Job summary

AdaptHealth, a leading home medical equipment provider, seeks a Respiratory Support Technician to deliver direct and indirect patient care across home, office, and hospital settings. You will train new staff, troubleshoot CPAP/BIPAP equipment, and ensure accurate documentation and billing support.

Requirements include a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license; knowledge of respiratory therapy or DME is a plus. The role involves lifting, travel, and HIPAA-compliant patient interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in Medicare certified HME environment preferred.
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy or DME services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Respiratory Department staff to provide equipment instruction and troubleshooting.
• Set up PAP devices and fit masks, communicating instructions clearly.
• Conduct follow-ups via calls/visits to ensure optimal care outcomes.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs per policy and manufacturer guidelines.
• Report hazards and incidents per company policies.
• Maintain knowledge of current Respiratory Programs and HME products.
• Complete paperwork including delivery tickets and compliance forms.
• Develop basic reimbursement knowledge for billing purposes.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and data confidentiality.
• Adhere to PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and refer services to community sources.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
