Job summary

MaineTouch LLC in Newport, ME is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical care to adults and seniors. You will help with daily living tasks according to each client's plan of care and MaineTouch guidelines, ensuring safety, independence, and comfort.

No prior experience required—training and ongoing support are provided. The role offers full- or part-time schedules, pay ranging from $17 to $20 per hour, mileage reimbursement where applicable, and opportunities

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, OR willingness to enroll in a PSS training program within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required - training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and basic hygiene.
• Support clients with mobility and transfers, including safe movement with or without mobility aids.
• Help with household tasks related to care, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation, meal serving, grocery shopping, and errands.
• Provide companionship and conversation and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in a client's condition or safety concerns to your supervisor.
• Follow all instructions and perform only tasks listed in the client's service plan.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all client interactions.
• Maintain client confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents immediately.
• Treat all clients with dignity and respect.
• Maintain dependable attendance and follow assigned schedules.
• Follow all MaineTouch policies and procedures and participate in required training.
