Job summary

MaineTouch LLC is seeking Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical care to adults and seniors. You will work directly in clients’ homes to support daily living, safety, independence, and comfort under each client’s plan of care.

No prior experience is required as training and support are provided. Flexible full-time or part-time shifts are available, including day, evening, weekend, and overnight options with mileage reimbursement where applicable.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, or enroll in a PSS training program within 60 days of hire.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required – training and support provided.
• Must not be listed on the Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, oral care, toileting, and basic hygiene.
• Support mobility and transfers, including safe movement with or without mobility aids.
• Help with household tasks related to care, including light housekeeping, laundry, dishes, and changing bed linens.
• Assist with meal preparation, meal serving, grocery shopping, and errands as outlined in the care plan.
• Provide companionship and support daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe and report changes in client condition or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Follow instructions and perform only tasks listed in the client’s service plan.
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time.
• Follow infection control and safety guidelines during all client interactions.
• Maintain client confidentiality per HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and report incidents immediately.
• Treat all clients with dignity and respect.
• Maintain dependable attendance and follow assigned schedules.
• Follow MaineTouch policies and required training.
