Job summary

MaineTouch hires Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home non-medical care to adults and seniors. You will work in clients' homes following an individualized plan of care, delivering daily living assistance with dignity, safety, and independence.

No prior experience required—training and ongoing supervision are provided. Flexible full-time or part-time schedules, day to overnight shifts where available, and mileage reimbursement; grow with certifications like CRMA or CNA.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Active PSS certification in the State of Maine, or enroll within 60 days.
• CNA (active or inactive) accepted.
• No experience required - training and support provided.
• Not listed on Maine CNA/Direct Care Worker Registry with substantiated findings.
• Ability to work independently.
• Physical ability to assist with mobility and daily activities.
• Strong communication skills.
• Access to a working cell phone for scheduling and documentation.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver's license preferred (assignment dependent).

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on, non-medical support to adults and seniors in-home.
• Assist with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Support mobility and transfers with or without aids.
• Help with light housekeeping, laundry, and errands as per care plan.
• Provide companionship and help with daily routines or hobbies.
• Observe changes and report safety concerns to supervisor.
• Follow service plans and complete documentation on time.
• Maintain infection control and client confidentiality per HIPAA and MaineTouch policies.
