Job summary

Powerback is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to deliver outpatient rehabilitation services in patients' homes, clinics, or independent living facilities. You will implement therapy programs under an OT supervision, promoting independence and functional goals in a flexible, home-based setting.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, documentation accuracy, and collaboration with the rehab team to tailor activities to each patient’s needs.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid license in the state(s) of practice.
• Must have a valid driver's license or reliable, independent transportation to and from the patients' residence.

Responsibilities

• Attends and contributes to patient care, staffing conferences and other required meetings as a representative of occupational therapy, under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
• Responsible for adherence to department and patient treatment schedule, timely clinical and billing documentation requirements as well as work related meetings.
• Works with other members of the rehabilitation team to develop programs and activities consistent with the needs and capabilities of each patient.
• Instructs patients, families and other caregivers in the skills and techniques of the occupational therapy treatment program under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist.
• Maintains appropriate and timely documentation for all patients treated.
• Cleans, maintains, identifies, and reports the need for repair of equipment, as necessary.
• Puts Patient Service First: Ensures that patients and families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere which recognizes the individuals' needs and rights.
• Implements a patient's individualized treatment plan as established by the primary Occupational Therapist.
• Provides individualized occupational therapy interventions including application of therapeutic techniques in areas such as cognitive skills, muscle strength, mobility, balance, activities of daily living, and more.
