Qualifications

• Graduated from ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Eligible to take NBCOT certification exam.
• Must be licensed or registered by the state of Florida.
• Must have a criminal background check.
• Must have current CPR certification (online certification not accepted).

Responsibilities

• Under OT supervision, provide patient care services delegated by the Occupational Therapist.
• Assist in evaluation and development of the rehabilitative plan of care and periodic re-evaluation.
• Prepare clinical and daily progress notes; submit within 48 hours and provide periodic summary reports.
• Instruct patient and family in exercises and self-care activities to improve independence.
• Document patient progress and communicate findings to OT and physician.
• Instruct other health team members and family members on therapy portions as appropriate.
• Attend department meetings and case conferences.
• Assist in discharge planning and completion of discharge summary.
