Heartstrings Pet Hospice is seeking In-Home Hospice and Euthanasia Veterinarians to serve pet families across Pennsylvania. Join a privately held, family-owned, doctor-led practice that values autonomy and compassionate end-of-life care in the home environment.

This role emphasizes meaningful patient-family conversations, flexible scheduling, and professional independence while maintaining high clinical standards and empathetic support for families during hospice and euthanasia decisions.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), VMD, BVMS, or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Active veterinary license in the state(s) where services will be provided.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel between in-home appointments.
• Ability to work independently as a mobile veterinarian with support from Heartstrings team.
• Strong empathy and professionalism during pet hospice and end-of-life conversations.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home hospice, palliative care, quality-of-life support, and compassionate euthanasia services.
• Travel to scheduled in-home appointments and work in a mobile veterinary care setting.
• Perform exams, medication administration, sedation, euthanasia, and related services.
• Educate families about quality‑of‑life decisions and end-of-life options with empathy.
• Maintain accurate medical records and document care provided for each patient encounter.
• Collaborate professionally with families, Heartstrings team, scheduling, and referring veterinarians.
