Job summary

Deaconess Hospice, part of the Optum family, offers in-home hospice aide roles aimed at supporting patients and families in their homes. You will deliver compassionate personal care and health-related services to enhance physical and emotional well-being.

The position requires a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and successful completion of a competency evaluation with prior aide experience or approved course. CPR certification is preferred and available within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Current driver's license and valid vehicle insurance required.
• Reliable transportation or access to public transit required.
• Successful completion of a competency evaluation and one of: prior nurse's aide/home health aide experience or approved home health aide course.
• Preferred: CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home personal care and designated health services to maintain patient's wellbeing.
• Perform activities of daily living as needed, including bathing, grooming, and basic hygiene.
• Report observations to agency director or accounts manager.
• Drive safely to patient homes and comply with traffic laws.
• Assist with household tasks essential to patient care.
