Job summary

Express Flooring is seeking ambitious Design Consultants for in-home consultations to present tailored flooring solutions and guide homeowners from consultation to signed agreements. You’ll rely on a trusted brand, proven systems, and a steady flow of opportunities to drive your success.

This 1099 direct-seller role offers uncapped commissions with averages of $150,000–$250,000 in the first year and potential >$300,000 for top performers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
• 2+ years of in-home, outside, or consultative sales experience.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to manage your schedule and pipeline independently.
• Confidence in a one-call-close sales environment.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends when customers are most available.
• Ability to lift and move product samples and materials weighing up to 55 lbs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Willingness to travel throughout an assigned market with multiple in-home appointments per day.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-home consultations with homeowners and provide customized flooring solutions.
• Build trust quickly by understanding customer needs, lifestyle considerations, and project goals.
• Present curated product selections and design recommendations that help customers make confident decisions.
• Prepare accurate measurements and project estimates.
• Educate and present customers with financing options and available promotions.
• Drive the sale from consultation to signed agreement, with the expectation of earning the customer's business during the initial appointment.
• Partner with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience from sale to installation.
• Consistently achieve and exceed individual sales goals.
