Job summary

Gulf Coast JFCS is seeking a Community Navigator to provide in-home support to Hispanic/Latino caregivers in Hillsborough County, FL. You will link families to services, deliver stress and parenting education, and respond to crisis needs with a family-centered approach.

You will work with the Program Manager and Counselor, complete screenings and Family Support Plans, and participate in ongoing professional development. The role includes on-call duties and field visits to families.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience working with children and families preferred.
• Knowledge of child development across physical, mental, emotional, cultural and ethnic areas.
• Knowledgeable about community resources, service referrals, and linkage.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Complete client screening to identify strengths, risks, needs and coordinate services for children and families.
• Complete intake, NCFAS-G+R, and Family Support Plan with the caregiver and monitor progress.
• Complete termination session to ensure Family Support Plan goals are met.
• Provide information, referrals and follow-up for community services (counseling, housing, etc.).
• Model and mentor families in a family-centered, youth-guided approach.
• Maintain contact with caregivers and service providers to enable collaboration.
• Collaborate weekly with the Program Manager and Counselor to meet caregiver needs.
• Attend professional development training as required by Florida state policy.
• Provide on-call services as assigned and follow on-call policy.
