Job summary

Gulf Coast JFCS in Saint Petersburg, FL seeks a Community Navigator to provide crisis intervention and connect adults, children, and families with essential services. You will participate in in-person responses, risk assessments, and referrals in collaboration with law enforcement and community partners.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a human services field and experience in crisis intervention or related areas.

Qualifications

• The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field.
• Prior crisis intervention, mental health, or substance abuse experience preferred.
• Proficient in computer use including MS Office and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person response to active 911 calls for adults, children, and families.
• Assess risk to self/others and client capacity to care for themselves.
• Referral and follow-up to appropriate community services and resources.
• Respond to officer referrals and link clients to services as needed.
• Coordinate with clients and providers to meet needs; transport as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
