Job summary

Makom is seeking Direct Support Professionals to join our in-home support team in the Bethesda area. You will help individuals with IDD lead self-directed, meaningful lives by providing person-centered care, skill development, and community engagement.

The role requires lifting up to 100 pounds with assistance and driving to supports as needed. We offer competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for eligible employees.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; additional studies in human services or related field are a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to cultivate strong communication with people we support, families, and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, person-centered support to individuals with IDD.
• Support skill-building and growth aligned with PCP/ISP.
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living and Instrumental ADLs as needed.
• Engage individuals in community activities to promote self-determination and inclusion.
