Job summary

Makom is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) for in-home, Saturday shifts (9:30am-3:30pm). You will help individuals with IDD lead self-determined lives, engage with communities, and grow skills through person-centered plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; further education in human services or related field is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and with others.
• Active communication culture with families, friends, and coworkers is essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications and general computer skills.
• Maintain professionalism and positive relationships with individuals, families, colleagues, and external partners.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds with assistance and kneel to provide hands-on support.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, person-centered support based on each person’s unique skills and needs.
• Support skill-building and personal growth in alignment with PCP/ISP.
• Facilitate community engagement and opportunities for social participation.
• Provide coaching for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and IADLs.
• Ensure clean, safe living environments and comply with medical plans.
