Qualifications

• Experience: entry-level; on-the-job training provided.
• Education: high school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge: basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Skills: interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are a must!
• Technology: proficiency with EHR systems or able to learn.
• Transportation: DSPs must have reliable transportation, driver’s license, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home and community where the individual lives.
• Assist with daily living tasks, housekeeping, meal prep, personal care, and employment support.
• Transport client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize client schedules and activities.
• Document daily care and reporting in the electronic health record.
