Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional ( DSP ) to assist individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in their homes and communities. You will help with daily tasks, personal care, and transportation, reporting in the electronic health system.

We offer paid training, flexible schedules, and competitive pay. This part-time or as-needed role supports our mission across North Carolina with a focus on empowering clients and their families.

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn.
• Reliable transportation, driver's license, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home of the individual and in the community.
• Assist with daily tasks such as housekeeping, meal prep, cooking, and cleaning; personal care tasks.
• Transport client to appointments and run errands as needed.
• Help plan and organize the client’s schedule.
• Daily documentation and reporting in the electronic health system of record.
