Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) for part-time shifts in Washington, NC and nearby areas. You will assist individuals with IDD in daily living tasks, provide personal care, and support employment goals.

You may transport clients, document activities, and help organize their schedules in their own homes and communities. The role offers flexible schedules, paid training (CPR/first-aid, mindset, medication administration, infection control, seizure management),

Qualifications

• Entry-level role with on-the-job training provided.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Basic housekeeping, basic nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail and dependability required.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or ability to learn.
• Reliable transportation, driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home and local community.
• Assist with daily tasks including housekeeping and meal prep.
• Provide personal care such as bathing and dressing and toiletry needs.
• Transport client to appointments and run errands.
• Plan and organize client schedules.
• Document and report in the electronic health system.
