Job summary

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company USA is seeking an Import VIP Account Specialist to advocate for clients and serve as the VIP customer’s primary point of contact. You will provide exceptional service across calls, email, and portals, coordinating with 3PLs to maximize satisfaction and loyalty to MSC.

Responsibilities include being the first MSC contact for VIP clients, monitoring incoming cargo, identifying needs, cultivating relationships, and collaborating with Sales, Trades, Bids, and SVC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, or customer service.
• English: advanced proficiency.
• Highly detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Solid customer service mindset and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first MSC contact for VIP customers and provide exceptional service.
• Monitor incoming cargo for VIP clients and report trends to management.
• Identify customer needs and build strong relationships with accounts.
• Collaborate with Sales/Trades/Bids/SVC/Intermodal to develop partnerships.
• Follow company policies and resolve inquiries in a timely manner.
• Maintain on-site presence five days per week.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary / Key Responsibilities

The Import VIP Account Specialist is the client's advocate within MSC and the customer's primary point of contact. The Import VIP Account Specialist provides exceptional customer service across diverse communication channels, aiming to maintain an ongoing positive relationship with the customer and all 3PL providers, such as brokers and/or forwarders, to maximize customer satisfaction and loyalty to MSC.

Essential Functions

• Serves as the first point of contact at MSC for VIP customer.
• Monitors and reports on incoming cargo for qualifying VIP clients daily.
• Identifies and anticipates customers' needs.
• Cultivates and manages relationships with participating accounts through high level of customer service.
• Strictly follows company policies and procedures.
• Resolves customer inquiries in a timely manner.
• Monitors account performance, identifying and reporting trends to management.
• Establishes relationships with other departments (Sales/Trades/Bids/SVC/Intermodal) to develop successful partnerships.
• Presence required on-site 5 days per week
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Key Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in a similar role (supply chain, transportation, shipping, logistics, freight forwarding, customer service, etc.)

Physical Demands

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time
• Must be able to commute to the designated office location
• Presence required on-site 5 days per week
