Role Description The Import Supervisor is a full-time, on‑site role based in Torrance, CA, responsible for overseeing daily import operationsThis role coordinates and monitors ocean and air import shipments, reviews documentation, and ensures timely clearance and delivery of cargo. The Import Supervisor leads and supports a team handling freight forwarding activities, and communication with customers, carriers, vendors. Daily responsibilities include managing customer inquiries, resolving shipment issues, tracking cargo status, and optimizing processes to improve efficiency and service quality. The role also involves training team members, maintaining accurate records, and collaborating with management to meet operational and customer service

  • Strong experience with ocean and air import operations, including shipment coordination, carrier liaison, and freight forwarding processes.
  • Proven customer service skills, with the ability to manage client expectations, resolve issues, and maintain professional communication.
  • Background in forwarding and international logistics, with familiarity in NVOCC and freight forwarding practices.
  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Effective leadership and team supervision experience, including training, mentoring, and performance oversight.
  • Proficiency with logistics and MS Office applications; willingness to learn new IT systems.
