Paylocity is seeking an Import Operations Manager for our Jersey City, NJ office to lead daily U.S. import activities across ocean, air, and ground transport. You will manage U.S. customs brokerage and ensure CBP and related regulations compliance while guiding a skilled team to deliver reliable service.

You will coordinate with overseas offices, agents, carriers, vendors, and customers, resolve escalated issues, and drive KPI improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in freight forwarding, import, customs brokerage, or international logistics.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily U.S. import operations across Ocean, Air, and Ground, ensuring timely and accurate shipment processing.
• Manage U.S. Customs Brokerage activities and ensure compliance with CBP, FDA, USDA, EPA, DOT, C-TPAT, ISF, ACE, and other applicable regulations.
• Lead, coach, and develop import operations and brokerage teams, including workload planning, performance management, and training.
• Coordinate with overseas offices, agents, carriers, vendors, and customers to ensure smooth cargo movement and high service levels.
• Resolve escalated operational issues, delays, exceptions, and claims while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Monitor KPIs, SLAs, and operational performance, identify opportunities for process improvements, and increased efficiency.
• Ensure accurate documentation, billing coordination, recordkeeping, and audit readiness.
• Support customer meetings, new business opportunities, system enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Responsible for managing the daily operations of the Import Department to ensure excellent customer service, compliance, and profitability.
• Manages employees in the Import Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
• Ensure compliance with company quality standards, including ISO 9001/14001, C-TPAT, and Responsible Care requirements

Leading Freight Forwarder / NVOCC/ Customs House Broker/ Tank Container Operator, with locations in 24 countries and over 3000 employees strong, is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Import Operations Manager in our Jersey City, NJ Office.
