Job summary

ITW is seeking an Import/Export Coordinator in Troy, OH to support the Transportation Department, ensure accurate documentation, and assist with import operations and freight payments. The role requires strong organization, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include audit of import shipments, coordination with brokers and 3PLs, and data entry for freight and audit records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; logistics or related coursework preferred.
• 2+ years in transportation, shipping, or logistics.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations and HTS.
• Understanding of international and domestic shipping documentation.

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests from U.S. import brokers regarding shipments.
• Audit import documentation for U.S. Customs compliance and accuracy.
• Document and follow up on discrepancies and corrective actions.
• Maintain filing systems for domestic and international shipments.
• Communicate with 3PL providers via phone, email, and portals.
• Track inbound material flow and report findings.
• Review freight bills, invoices, and POs for accuracy.
• Data entry for freight bills and audit logs.
• Process freight quote requests and respond to internal/external customers.
• Support other transportation department functions as needed.
• Cross-train across transportation functions.
