Responsibilities

• Prepare and process container orders, invoices, and import-related documentation.
• Provide required import documents to customers.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Monitor shipment status and assist with delivery coordination.
• Track freight costs and other logistics-related expenses.
• Maintain accurate shipping and transaction records.
• Respond to customer inquiries and assist with issue resolution.
• Communicate with customers and manufacturing facilities regarding orders and shipments.
• Assist with inventory control, data entry, and basic data analysis.
• Perform other administrative and logistics duties as assigned.

Import / Export Assistant (Temporary position)

Pay: $20–$25/hour

Schedule: Full-time or Part-time

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Start Date: ASAP

Language: English required; Japanese is a big plus

Position Summary

Seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Import / Export Assistant to support daily logistics, shipping, and trade operations.

No prior logistics experience or specific educational background is required. Entry-level candidates are welcome, and training will be provided. This position is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in building a long-term career in international logistics and import/export operations.

The initial assignment will be temporary; however, there is a strong possibility of assignment extension and potential conversion to a permanent position based on performance and business needs. We are especially interested in candidates who are looking for a stable, long-term opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
• Responsible, dependable, and willing to learn

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in logistics, import/export, freight forwarding, or customer service
• Experience working with freight forwarders or customs brokers
• Knowledge of import duties, customs procedures, or trade compliance
• Japanese language ability
• Advanced Excel skills, including VBA, are a plus
