Job description

Medblocks is building a developer-focused “stack for healthcare” that makes it possible for anyone to build applications that integrate directly with clinical workflows without rebuilding expensive Electronic Medical Records systems. We believe code has the potential to save more lives than doctors can by themselves.

Founded by doctors-turned-programmers, our team leverages open, vendor-neutral standards like openEHR, FHIR, SMART, and SNOMED CT to create a platform that makes healthcare data accessible, interoperable, and useful.

Our Culture

At Medblocks, we operate with three core values:

Trust: We trust you’ll get your work done without micromanagement. We don’t enforce working hours or monitor your activity—we measure outcomes, not outputs.

Transparency: We believe information flow is at the heart of a healthy company. We share detailed financials and metrics with our team and maintain open communication about company direction.

Customer Value & Honesty: We’re obsessively focused on delivering value to our customers and maintaining honest relationships about what our technology can and cannot do.

We’re a team that values deep work, clear communication, and continuous learning. We’re building technology that matters, and we’re looking for individuals who want their code to make a difference in healthcare.

The Role

We are seeking an Implementation Engineer based in the US to drive the hands‑on deployment and integration of our healthcare data platform. Reporting directly to the Senior Implementation Engineer, you will work at the intersection of modern APIs, client software environments, and healthcare data standards to build reliable, scalable integration systems.

In this role, you will be key to onboarding clients successfully, configuring systems, mapping clinical data using FHIR and openEHR, and troubleshooting integration challenges. You will collaborate closely with our engineering team in India, internal product managers, and US client technical teams to turn complex health data into seamless workflows.

  • Location: US
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Responsibilities
  • Implement healthcare data integration solutions, ensuring proper configuration and deployment across diverse client environments.
  • Develop and integrate APIs to enable seamless data exchange between third‑party healthcare platforms and Medblocks infrastructure.
  • Configure, test, and validate data integration systems to ensure high functionality, accuracy, and system performance prior to final release.
  • Customize software solutions to meet client‑specific technical and operational workflows.
  • Apply FHIR and openEHR standards directly into system implementations to ensure structured, accurate data model translation.
  • Guarantee all technical implementations comply with US healthcare data regulations, including HIPAA and TEFCA requirements.
  • Document all system configurations, implementation workflows, and technical procedures for internal teams and long‑term maintainability.
  • Support client onboarding by implementing solution architecture within agreed project scopes and timelines.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues during and post‑implementation to ensure system stability and rapid resolution.
  • Monitor system performance post‑deployment, executing performance tuning, updates, and maintenance as needed.
  • Offer technical support and insights during client consultations and project discussions.
  • Collaborate daily with Medblocks‑India to align engineering tasks with technical execution requirements.
  • Partner with the Product Manager by providing live system feedback to inform future platform enhancements.
  • Support Medblocks Bootcamp by assisting in the creation of technical documentation and developer training materials.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in software implementation, integration engineering, or technical solution delivery.
  • Proven hands‑on experience building, testing, and integrating RESTful APIs and connecting disparate backend architectures.
  • Practical exposure to or strong working knowledge of healthcare standards such as FHIR, openEHR, HL7, or SNOMED CT.
  • Baseline familiarity with US healthcare data privacy and security standards (HIPAA, TEFCA).
  • Comfort collaborating across time zones with offshore software development teams (specifically India).
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities; excellent written and verbal English skills to collaborate effectively with both engineering peers and client teams.
