Implementation Consultant – Payroll (US)
You are a hands‑on Implementation Consultant with deep knowledge of U.S. payroll processes and a passion for delivering high‑quality software solutions. Heywood is seeking someone who can translate client needs into effective system configurations, support product development, and ensure a seamless go‑live experience for pensioner payroll implementations.
This role is critical to strengthening our U.S. payroll capability. You will work closely with clients, internal teams, and developers to design, configure, test, and deploy payroll solutions that meet regulatory, operational, and business requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Solution design — Work with clients to understand payroll requirements and translate them into system configurations and functional specifications.
- Configuration and implementation — Configure payroll processes, rules, and workflows within Heywood’s platform to support pensioner payroll operations.
- Testing and validation — Develop and execute test plans, validate outputs, and ensure the solution is fully operational and compliant ahead of go‑live.
- Client engagement — Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring the solution aligns with client objectives and supporting them through implementation and transition.
- Product development support — Provide subject‑matter expertise to enhance Heywood’s core payroll product, helping close key U.S. payroll knowledge gaps.
- Integration support — Assist with pension‑to‑payroll integration activities where applicable.
- Documentation — Produce clear configuration documentation, test results, and client‑facing materials.
- Continuous improvement — Identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and product functionality.
Qualifications
- Experience — 2+ years of U.S. payroll experience within the pension industry, plus 2+ years of software implementation experience.
- Technical skills — Hands‑on experience configuring payroll systems and validating payroll outputs.
- Industry knowledge — Familiarity with pensioner payroll processes and U.S. payroll regulations.
- Communication — Strong client‑facing skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into clear business language.
- Collaboration — Comfortable working with cross‑functional teams, including product, development, and client services.
- Location — Hybrid in Madison, WI with periodic onsite visits; remote when not onsite.
