Job summary

Louisiana Works is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Dispute Resolution Specialist 1/2 in Harahan, LA to support the WC Judge and Mediator. You will research, prepare summaries, and aid in evaluating legal and factual issues in workers’ compensation disputes.

The ideal candidate has experience in claims or dispute resolution, strong judgment, and critical thinking skills. This role reports to the Office of Workers’ Compensation Administration and offers state employment benefits.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in workers' compensation claims or dispute resolution.
• Six years of full-time experience in any field.
• A bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of final legal documents such as dismissals, orders and opinions rendered by the Workers' Compensation Judge
• Timely scan exhibits and minutes after trials or hearings
• Properly and timely process and code minutes, attorney fee petitions, Unemployment and Social Security requests, full dismissals and independent medical examination requests
• Act as safety coordinator for the office
• Prepare and forward monthly statistical report
